MBBS · FRACS (Plast) · AHPRA MED0001630444
Dr Rohit Kumar is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, practising in Sydney's Western suburbs across clinics at Westmead, Penrith and Orange NSW.
His practice has a strong focus on body contouring after significant weight loss — a field that demands not just surgical skill, but a deep understanding of the physical and emotional journey patients have been through before they sit across from him in consultation. Whether the weight was lost through GLP-1 medications, bariatric surgery, or years of disciplined diet and exercise, the commitment behind it is the same — and the final chapter of that journey deserves the same level of care.
International patients from the Pacific region (Fiji, PNG), the Middle East and South Asia are welcome at Dr Kumar's practice. Consultations are available via video for international and regional patients prior to in-person assessment.
APD · The Cosmetic Dietitian
Amy Kellner is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) operating under her brand The Cosmetic Dietitian — a practice specifically focused on the nutritional aspects of cosmetic and body contouring surgery, GLP-1 medication management, and the dietary needs of patients throughout the weight loss journey.
Amy's scope within My Weight Loss Journey covers the nutritional arc that runs alongside the surgical one — from the pre-operative optimisation of protein and micronutrient status that determines wound healing and recovery outcomes, through the post-operative dietary management that protects against muscle loss and nutritional deficiency, to the long-term lifestyle strategy that ensures results are maintained.
Consultations with Amy are available nationally via Telehealth, as well as in-person where available. Amy works closely with Dr Kumar's team to ensure patients approaching body contouring surgery are nutritionally prepared and that the two clinical approaches are genuinely integrated.

Most surgical practices tell patients to lose weight before surgery. Most nutrition practices tell patients to prepare for the operation. Very few do both — in genuine clinical partnership, with shared knowledge of where the patient is in their journey and what they need next.
My Weight Loss Journey exists because the weight loss transformation has phases — and different clinical expertise is needed at each one. Patients who have the right nutrition support through their weight loss achieve better body composition, better surgical readiness and better recovery. Patients who have the right surgical care at the right time complete what the weight loss began. The two are not separate. They are a sequence.
Dr Kumar's practice has a strong tradition of caring for patients travelling from Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands, Dubai and India. The quality of specialist plastic surgery available in Sydney — at Australian private hospital standards — is world-class, and for many patients travelling for surgery represents both clinical excellence and significant cost advantage relative to other international destinations.
